You and your team are the only things standing in the way of deadly diseases that threaten the world. The fate of humanity is in your hands.
From designer Matt Leacock, Pandemic is a cooperative game of teamwork for two to four players. As members of an elite disease control team, you must keep four deadly diseases at bay. Work together as you travel the globe to treat infections while collecting the cards you need to discover a cure for each disease. But the clock is ticking as outbreaks and epidemics fuel the spreading plagues. As a cooperative game, players win or lose together. Only by working together can you keep the outbreaks in check and find the cures in time!

If you are not a competitive person but enjoy playing games with friends Pandemic, and the genre of games that it falls under may just be the perfect games for you.
Pandemic is a cooperative board game. As such everyone playing teams up against the pandemic that grows each and every turn. The game is not difficult to pick up and play as the rules and objectives are pretty straightforward. This is where pandemic strikes a good balance, while it is straightforward to play it does require a bit of thinking and planning with the group as mistakes are often very quickly punished and you may find yourself losing more games than you win when you first start playing. This difficulty combined with the seven different character roles that all have their own abilities makes sure that no two games are exactly the same, this adds a lot of replay value to an otherwise very straightforward game.
The only downside to this game, actually does not have to do with the game itself, rather, it has to do with something that all cooperative games can suffer from. That is, if someone at the table is very competitive they can often take over the whole game. As such it is important to find a good group to play the game with or to have some sort of house rules or stipulations put in place to make sure that everyone has a voice.
With a good group of players this game is easily a 5/5 as it is well balanced with a reasonable difficulty curve. However, because someone’s voice can often go unheard or they may feel that their turn is being highjacked for the sake of the team I can only give it a 4/5.
